Steve "George" Carrieri was born in New Haven Connecticut. He attended Catholic School for most of his life and followed his parents' wishes by getting a "sensible" degree in accounting. But Steve never wanted to be sensible, he loved music like rock and roll, hip hop and funk and everything it represented. He preferred spending his off hours listening and dancing to beats at nightclubs rather than crunching numbers at an office. So, he did the sensible thing and followed his heart. Steve moved to Los Angeles to pursue design and his move paid off. Shortly after arriving, he got work using his talents to help produce fashion shows for Gucci and Dolce Gabbana. He traveled to New York and Milan, but still Steve wanted more. He wanted his own line. Now, he has it.
Steve designs GEORgE. He found the finest leather and used it to create innovative cuffs and belts with a distressed, edgy, but well crafted look that captured the attention of stylists in New York City and Los Angeles. Buyers in Los Angeles and New York also fell for Steve's vision. Stores like Barney's New York, Fred Segal-Ron Herman, and H. Lorenzo feature his unique, handmade designs for both men and women.
Steve's work is beginning to draw the attention of the media and celebrities. Scarlett Johanssen, Lucy Liu, Avril Lavigne, Rob Lowe, Kid Rock, Jared Leto and Melissa Etheridge have all worn his accessories. Also, his designs have been featured in WWD, GQ, US, the Wall Street Journal as well as a Sony campaign and were featured on the WB's hit morning show in New York City.
